New 200-amp service to power two sheds in Fuquay-Varina

The homeowners needed real power at two detached sheds. Rather than tap the house panel, we installed a separate 200-amp meter combo for Duke Energy to connect and wired both sheds from it, in one day, without the house losing power.

The story

What the homeowners called about

They needed power at two detached sheds on their property.

What we found

Two sheds, set apart from the house and from each other.

What we couldn't know until we got there

How far apart the sheds were, and how much power they would need.

The options we gave them

Two written options. Option 1: run a 50-amp circuit from the home's existing service. Option 2: install a new 200-amp meter combo that Duke Energy connects directly, then run circuits to both sheds from it, for far more capacity.

What they chose, and why

Option 2, the new 200-amp meter combo.

In the homeowners' words

★★★★★

I want to give a huge shoutout and recommendation to the crew from ARC Electric that was sent for our electrical needs. We have a large and small shed that needed specific electrical wiring. Mateo, little Jacob, big Jacob, Alex and Devin worked as a team throughout the day in 102 degrees heat index to complete our project in a day. They were all still smiling at the end of the day. Their communication ability was stellar - every one of them. Mateo’s professionalism, knowledge, and electrical expertise was impeccable. He trouble shot every aspect that presented itself and explained, as well as, demonstrated what we were to do with our new service. We are so grateful and blessed. They all, at different times, stated what a wonderful company ARC is to work for. I can’t say enough. Even our little MaltiPoo was impressed and approved. When it was time to take care of the invoice, she hopped right up in Mateo’s lap. Lol. No doubt we will use your services again.
