Terms & Conditions

The short version. Our electrical work carries a 5-year warranty. We don’t repair drywall, trim or paint. Payment is due when the job is done. The full terms are below.

1. Warranty

  • Workmanship: 5 years, parts and labor. If an issue is caused by poor workmanship on the part of ARC, we cover the parts and labor to fix it for 5 years.
  • Defective parts: 5 years of labor. If a part itself is defective, the part warranty depends on the part’s supplier or manufacturer. ARC covers the labor to replace the defective part for 5 years after installation.
  • Manufacturer warranties. Some equipment carries its own manufacturer warranty, such as Eaton’s warranty on the CHSPT2ULTRA surge protector. Those are provided by the manufacturer, under the manufacturer’s terms.
  • When the warranty doesn’t apply. This warranty is void if the defect is determined to be the result of a fault caused by improper use, or by unforeseeable circumstances outside ARC’s control.

2. Work we quote

Drywall, trim and paint

ARC does not cover repairing drywall, trim and/or paint that may be damaged or opened for the quoted work.

Ordered parts

If you accept a quote for repairs that requires parts to be ordered, and then choose not to have the repairs done after the part(s) have been ordered, we will charge a $25.00 non-refundable restocking fee.

Trenching

When digging, the homeowner is responsible for marking sprinkler systems, downspout drains and any other lines not marked by 811. Damage to sprinkler systems and drains that have not been marked is the homeowner’s responsibility.

3. Payment

  • Unless the TERMS field on your invoice states otherwise, payment is due upon job completion (DUE ON RECEIPT). Completion is the last day of work performed and does not include the inspection date.
  • Any special billing terms required by a client’s billing department must be brought to ARC’s attention before any job starts.
  • There is a $25.00 fee for any bounced check or credit card stop payment. Any additional costs ARC incurs from check or credit card payment issues, or from payment issues that cause financial loss or delay in payment, including reasonable attorney’s fees, are the client’s responsibility and will be added to the amount due.
  • DUE ON RECEIPT payments are delinquent 24 hours after completion if not paid. All other payments not made within ten (10) days of the due date are delinquent.
  • Delinquent accounts are subject to a finance charge of 1.5% per month (18% APR) on the unpaid balance until paid in full.
  • Failure to pay is a breach of contract and may result in a Mechanic’s Lien being placed on the property. If a lien is filed, your property could be sold against your will to pay for labor, materials or other services that you or your contractor or subcontractor failed to pay for. Lien law is complex, and we recommend consulting an attorney whenever a specific problem arises.

By accessing or using arcelectric.com (the “Site”), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use this Site.

Ownership of content

All content on this Site, including text, images, graphics, infographics, videos, checklists, tools and downloads, is the property of ARC Electric unless otherwise noted, and is protected under U.S. and international copyright law. © ARC Electric. All rights reserved.

Permitted use

  • You may quote or reference short excerpts from our articles (up to 100 words) with a clear, do-follow link back to the original page on arcelectric.com.
  • You may share or embed our infographics and checklists using the official embed codes we provide.
  • You may share our content on social media as long as it clearly credits ARC Electric as the source.

Prohibited use

  • Republishing our articles in their entirety without prior written consent.
  • Removing watermarks, logos or attribution from our images, infographics or downloads.
  • Claiming our content, resources or tools as your own.
  • Using our content for commercial purposes (such as reselling, licensing or syndication) without permission.

Downloads and tools

Checklists, PDFs and calculators on this Site, including our load calculator, are for your personal use, are provided “as is” and are for informational purposes only. Using them does not create a client–contractor relationship.

Information on this Site is for general educational purposes. While ARC Electric is a licensed electrical contractor in North Carolina, content on this Site does not replace a professional inspection, consultation or electrical service. Always consult a licensed electrician for work performed in your home or business.

Enforcement

ARC Electric monitors misuse of our content. If you copy, republish or redistribute our materials in violation of these Terms, we may request removal or proper attribution, file a DMCA takedown notice with your hosting provider or Google, or pursue further legal remedies if necessary.

Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The date at the top reflects the latest version, and continued use of this Site means you accept any changes.
