Two-story foyer chandelier replaced in Wake Forest

The homeowners wanted the chandelier over their two-story foyer replaced. We also priced a chandelier lift so it could be lowered for cleaning; they chose to just swap the fixture for now, and we had the new one assembled and hung in about four hours.

The story

What the homeowners called about

They asked for a quote to replace several light fixtures, including the chandelier over the stairwell in their two-story foyer.

What we found

The foyer could be reached safely with a tall ladder, so no scaffolding was needed.

What we couldn't know until we got there

How wide and how tall the foyer was.

The options we gave them

A written quote to replace the foyer chandelier and one other fixture, and a separate price for a chandelier lift, which lowers the fixture to the floor so it can be cleaned and its bulbs changed without a ladder.

What they chose, and why

The new foyer chandelier for now, without the lift.

We priced the chandelier lift as an option, not a requirement. The homeowners decided they didn't need it yet, and that was their call to make.
