Custom Pop-up Outlet with Wireless Charging

A Clean & Clutter-Free Aesthetic

Outlets in the wall are unsightly. They typically don’t match the room decor, they stick out on your walls, and are often inconvenient in their placement. They make your room look cluttered and often interfere with your overall aesthetic. Plus, cords to your electronics will often have to drape over the side of your cupboards or end tables when in use. Exactly what you don’t want! But a pop up outlet hides in a countertop or built-in when not in use, preserving the look of your room. And when in use, it helps keep cords from being in the way. Win-win!

This custom pop-up outlet also includes a wireless charging port on top, which can be used even without extending the pop-up outlet!  Contact us at ARC Electric for installation of your outlet – in reading nooks, kitchen counters, or other built-in counters, as you please.

Raleigh Electrical Panel Upgrade

Your Electrical Service Breaker Panel is the heart of your electrical system it distributes power from your service provider to every electrical device in your home or business. If this fails or is out of date major problems can occur, loss of power, damage to electrical appliances, and at worst an electrical fire.
These days, with all the new appliances and technical devices we have in our Raleigh homes, we find that older homes might not have sufficient power available to handle the increased demand, without an electrical panel upgrade. An ARC Electric electrician (your Raleigh and Cary electrical contractor) can inspect your home’s current wiring system and recommend any electrical panel changes that are necessary. Don’t wait for problems to occur. If your home is over 15 years old call the best electricians in Raleigh to give you a FREE estimate today.

Raleigh, Cary, Holly Springs, Apex Service Electrician: Home Theater

Raleigh Service Electrician - Home Theater InstallationHome theaters require more than just plugging in a few appliances. Most systems use multiple components: the television or projector, the DVD or Blu-ray player, the cable box, the stereo system and however many speakers you wish to include (usually anywhere from five to ten). All of them require proper organization and connections, as well as an evenly balanced power load. An electrician can help distribute that load evenly, and make sure your system can handle the demand without tripping the circuit breakers. Some systems need to be hard wired into your home, something which should only be done by a professional.

All of those components need to be connected to each other, and in the case of speakers must sometimes run the length of the entire room in order to do their job. An amateur job may leave wires in a dangerous tangle or stretched across parts of the room such as doorways and walkways. An electrician can run the wiring through the walls, as well as keeping the connections safe and clear to ensure the best viewing experience possible.

Biltmore House – Power Panel

This is really incredible to see. The technology that was being used at that time is truly amazing, and the fact that it was used until 1990 is great.
While it may not be that massive, if you have an electrical service that is aging and would like to have one of our electricians come inspect and give an estimate to bring it up to date, give us a call!

Part of Biltmore House Power Panel

From the Biltmore House Facebook post:

“While Biltmore House remains closed at this time, we hope you enjoy this peek at the sub-basement, where the original heating and power equipment still stand!
Biltmore was designed with “state-of-the-art” technology of the time. That is evident in Biltmore’s Sub-Basement where the original heating and power equipment still stand. This switchboard measures seven by sixteen feet and is made of four slabs of solid marble chosen for its insulating properties.
This switchboard was used until April of 1990 at which time it was determined to be inadequate to accommodate the needs of the House.”
